How to fix stripped spindle shaft on riding mower?
My blades started spinning freely. Discovered stars on spindle shafts had worn off. The blades have a three flat sided hole in the center that needs to be centered and held in place. It did fit on the spindle raised star pattern on the end of the shaft. They are worn off from the blades spinning freely.
Not an uncommon problem…Had the same thing…..You need to go to rep. of the mower mfgr. and get a new shaft…(Be sure the starr is good on the blade) You can get new brgs. from the same people..But once you know the bearing nos. you can go to a bearing warehouse and get them for about half what the mower people get for the brgs. If your not comortable with this get the brgs. from the mower people
