Do plastic flower pots or plastic planters crack in the winter like clay pots do?

I have three 5 gallon planters on my balcony that look terra cotta but are made out of plastic. I live in Chicago where wind chills can fall below zero in the winter. Will I need to bring my plastic pots inside?

I have the same type of pots you have. Mine have been on my sundeck for the past 10 years. No cracks! I live in Washington and last year we had a lot of snow, but our lowest temperature, I believe was about 20 degrees above zero. I don’t remember what the wind chill was. I just know it was cold and everyone got sick of dealing with all the snow on the ground all Winter.

I don’t think you need to worry about your pots cracking.
