I need help deciding which wood flooring to get?

I am going to get wood flooring soon . I know I want pre finished solid hard wood 3/4 thick 3 width. The problem is I cant decide whether to get exotic or traditional like maple or oak. the exotic will get darker over time, the traditional wont get darker but they are lower on the janka scale. Any suggestions ? i would appreciate any help you can give me

Go with what you like. Maple and oak have been used for years and years and although lower on the Janka rating ( than most of your exotic woods) are still plenty hard enough to be used under normal residential use. Aside from cherry , I ve never know most of the exotic woods to darken that much that I d be concerned about. There is a few simple steps to help make what little it darkens to make it darken evenly over the years.
